proceesing online express transaction

I am new to Raiser's Edge and need some help. I processed an online express donation payment via credit card. I linked to an existing constituent record.  I processed the transaction.

The transaction no longer appears in the Donation Transactions page, however the transaction is not appearing on the constituent's record under the Gift tab.


Does the transaction automatically appear on the constituent's record if it is linked, or, does the gift need to be entered on the constituent's record separately?


It is showing up in Blackbaud Merchant Services.
