Giving Day Integration

Options
Hello everyone,

Apologies if this has come up before, but my university holds a giving day each spring, and this will be our first with Blackbaud products (NetCommunity, RE, RENXT). Has anyone had success using NetCommunity as a platform for a giving day (ex. progress bars, update feeds, etc.)? If so, do you recommend any resources to help me get started? Alternatively, is anyone aware of giving day platforms that integrate with Blackbaud (or at least play nicely)? I'd love to hear about your successes!

Thank you,

Mike

  • Hello,

We (Salem State University) designed several webpages (landing pages and giving forms) in BBNC to accomodate our Viking Warrior Day - our giving day program. We created a countdown clock from code that we got from Google and used the scheduled publishing feature within the FTI's to release benchmarks totals at pre-determined times (6pm, 8pm, Midnight, 11 am the next day, etc.). This required our Gift Processing area to process gifts during that time and you'll need to have those totals given (emailed, text, smoke-signaled) to your BBNC operator since there is no way to have Raiser's Edge auto-populate those figures. Now, that being said...If you have a good understanding of HTML5 and CSS3 you can design or Google grab source code and play around with a FTI parts for thermometers, progress bars, etc. Keep in mind that not all coding plays nice with BBNC Spark or Grow!

Feel free to reach out to the netcommunity facebook page to mind-hive your imaginings. I would love to show you what we did but I reuse my parts and pages so that I can keep my URLs in perpetuity. Once I get my content up, I will send you a link to view.
  • I realize this is a pretty old post but I just wanted to say that progress bars, thermometers, donuts, etc. are possible with some javascript and a reliable way to get the data "in". This is where access to a live data connector would be awesome! (are you listening BB?)

I ended up exporting the data as a CSV coming in to the RE Gift queue and sending that "back" to NC in a secret file-folder that the javascript could access.

....just wanted to share that it *can* be done! :-)

  • Agree with Chris Coey - live data connector would be AWESOME.
