Update initial gift amount when split total is different (as in RE7)

Hi All,

Has anyone had the following issue when entering split gifts in RE NXT? If so, please vote for this feature to be implemented in RE NXT (see link below):


In RE 7, when creating a gift with a split, and when the split total is different to the gift amount, the system prompts the user to update the gift amount. In RE NXT Web view, following the same steps does not give the user an option to update the gift amount and the user is not able to complete the split screen.

For this to work correctly in NXT, the user would need to know the gift amount before entering split items. This is not how we enter most donations. When on a call, the donor usually requests information from staff about the current campaign and/or available funds, then makes up their mind about the details (gift split).

This is currently painful in RE NXT, as the user would have to capture the details manually outside of NXT, or cancel out of the split screen, update the gift amount, then re-enter the split details. This is too cumbersome, time-consuming and error prone.

The RE NXT have confirmed this would need to be a new feature request, and if it gets enough votes, it'll be considered to implementation.
