New TeamRaiser Example

Options
Hi all,

Just putting the final touches on a new TeamRaiser based p2p fundraising site for a client- let me know what you think/any questions you have about implementation!

https://walk.spca.bc.ca

Here's a few new features I was able to incorporate this time round:

WordPress based TeamRaiser Event Pages

Each TeamRaiser for this fundraising event has its own WordPress page that pulls in goal/top fundraisers/top teams info from LO, with page content editable in WordPress.

Dynamic Discount Codes

Enter a discount code, and it'll validate it in real time with JS, and let you know how much of a discount you get off the registration fee.  If your registration fee is reduced to $0 as a result of this, it also removes the credit card section of the registration form (unless you check additional donation later on).

Dynamic Team Search

When joining a team, you can search for a team in real time and get a list of available teams back for your teamraiser events in this category.  You can then click the team and it'll add you to that team when you register, all without leaving the page or refreshing.

Responsive YT Video Embed

Responsive YT video that integrates cleanly into the participant profile right above fundraiser description.

Scroll through Profile & Banner Image on Mobile

This TeamRaiser setup uses profile and banner images for participant pages, and on mobile it displays your profile image first and lets you scroll over using javascript  to see the banner image as well.

General Improvements to fundraiser page

Lots of small improvements here- brought banner image more in line with Facebook's default og:img standards so it looks better when sharing on Facebook, added in milestones to the page that load higher-res icons from WordPress.

  • This looks fantastic! Frankly, I'm super jealous, because this is how I WISH my teamraiser site looked. Did you build this yourself, or contract with BB to build it? We're working with them currently to have them revamp our TR site, and it still doesn't look as good as yours. I'd love any advice!

    Thanks!

    Hi Jennifer,

I built this one- if I can give any advice is go with using the Luminate API to access teamraiser functionality and combine it with a modern content management system like WordPress or Drupal- it really streamlines building content out and making it easier for staff to edit/keep updated!  The API has received some updates in the last year that really makes this easier (you could do it before but required quite a few workarounds, but the new additions and updates to the API makes it easier for a developer to build a modern p2p site using Luminate API).

Let me know if you have any more questions!
