Alias and various acronyms

I was wondering if people had any ideas about the best way to put in aliases and acronyms for organizations and names. So for example, whether I'm searching for "American Express" or "AMEX" the company I'm looking for should pop up. Any idea in terms of how this can be done? Thank you.

The only way to do that would be to have a UDF for Alias that is a free text field that is searchable in Advanced Find. You would also be able to pull in that UDF into the header of the account so anyone could see what the alias is.
