Constituent Action Types

Action Types

Cultivation

Used if the action is related to moving the constituent to the solicitation and or volunteer stage of moves management.
                Examples include: Lunch/Dinner meetings, invitations to events, or sending information.

 

Solicitation

Used if the action is related to an ask.
                Examples include: Phone calls, meetings, written communication.

Stewardship

Used if the action is related to the ongoing relationship with the constituent that is already a donor or volunteer.
                Examples include: Cards, phone calls, or events.

Qualification

Used if the action is related to judging if the constituent is interested in becoming a donor or volunteer.
                Examples include: phone calls, meetings, or events.

Volunteer

Used to track if the constituent is a volunteer.  Enter information about how the constituent volunteered.

Social Media

Used if the action is related to a social media post.

Other

Used if the action is not related to any of the above categories.

I haven't used actions to record volunteering, but that is a great idea. I would also record volunteers as a constituent code if they are a regular volunteer.

As mentioned by Sunshine, we also use Constituency Code to identify volunteers and we have an attribute type with a bit of extra info since we do not have the volunteer module. 

I love the social media action type. 

We also use New Donor Thank You for before they hit the full stewardship track and Donation Related for any calls to clarify information or if the donor calls us in-regards to their donations.
