Automated B-Day messages to constituents?

Hi BBNC users! 

Who is using BBNC to automatically send birthday messages to constituents? The previous community discussion on this topic is from 2013. Anybody using it today?

I found this link on KB (https://kb.blackbaud.com/articles/Article/72756?_ga=2.35977512.909112778.1550017789-82754205.1499118067) and wonder how it is working in the real world.


Also, how do you track performance metrics for this special automated message series? 


And finally, do you use this tool for other types of automated messages, say for giving anniversaries or other milestones?

Hi Christina,

Although we call it automatic, I still have to create the email every month. It is the same template and we use an RE query built for pulling alumni only with birthdays within that particular month. On the NetCommunity side there is two reports you can pull "Summary and Detail" that will give you the open rates, click throughs and more comprehensive info like links clicked, transactions and the email addresses of everyone you sent to and the breakdown of the activity.
