NCOA Scan Issues

Options
I noticed that after an NCOA scan, that anyone who was marked with an Invalid Address prior to the scan and then we got back an new address that it did not undo the Invalid Address box. Does anyone else have this issue? What is your solution? I had to run a query and then go back and uncheck them. Evidently this has been happening all along and I never knew it. Are there any other quirky issues anyone has?

Thanks for your help and insight.

  • I can't find the Knowledgebase article(s) right now, but I created my procedures based on a number of different knowledgebase articles about scrubbing data after running NCOA.

These are the checks/cleanups that I do after running NCOA:

Mark addresses found to me invalid: Unmark "send mail," check "no valid address."

Find constituents with new valid addresses: Check "send mail" and uncheck "no valid address"

Since we're integrated with EE, I run similar queries to translate those fields to that database.

Make sure all addresses have a country

Check address type on former addresses on organization records

Query for young alumni who may have inadvertently had their address updated and it changed their parents' addresses by mistake.

Query for current parents, students, and employees to alert the school to any address changes.

Let me know if you have any questions about any of these and I can give more details about how I built the queries.

After I update the constituent records that show up on the lost address report by checking the no valid address box and unchecking send email box, some of those constituents show up again on the next report. Why is that?

It will continue to check to see if those constituents register a change of address with USPS.
