How have you handled the influx of dummy records when you integrate Team Raiser/Facebook?

Options
Hi,

We have recently integrated Facebook and Team Raiser.  It results in all those name only records from Facebook.  We also use RELO to connect to Raiser's Edge.  What strategies have people used to deal with these dummy records?  I'm debating merging them all in to one or moving all the transactions to a single profile?  Anyone have any thoughts/ideas?   Our fundraisers love the integration but the data person in me hates all the unusable records.

Thanks,

  • Hi Kathleen,

We have been experiencing a similar problem. We switched from RELO to Import Omatic last year when bringing in our online gifts but the problem remains the same. We have started to place the gifts on our generic anonymous record but have begun to discuss creating a "Facebook Anonymous" record. I can't give any good advice because right now it feels like a lose-lose situation no matter how we deal with the Facebook Team Raiser gifts, but wanted to reach out and let you know that you are not alone! I wish we could at least gather some basic information such as email addresses even if we had to code them as do not solicit. We are experiencing the same problems regarding our fundraisers versus our data people. It seems like any new software that provides fundraisers with convenience just creates more hassle for those who have to manage or import the data!

    Good Luck!

  • We have the same question. If anyone has made any revelations on this topic, I'd love to hear it!
