Setting Up Team Options for Participant Registration

To enable participants to form teams for this TeamRaiser, you must select the Allow participants to form teams when they register checkbox on this page. Even though you select the option to form teams, TeamRaiser allows people to register as individual participants instead of joining a team.

You can also enable the formation of honorary teams, password-restricted teams, company-labeled teams, and divisions in which to associate groups of teams.

To configure team options:

1. If you are not already on the Registration page, click the Configure Registration Information link in the Configuration Checklist (or, click Registration from the third-level navigation bar at the top of the page).

2. In the Team Information section on the Configure Registration page, for:

- Assign all participants to a (randomly selected) honorary team when they register, click the checkbox if you plan to use honorary teams. This can be useful if you will be using special celebrity teams in addition to the regular team setup, or to have a team function if you are not using teams at all. For example, you can set up special celebrity led Team A and Team B as honorary teams. When new participants register for the TeamRaiser, the system will automatically assign them to either the Celebrity A or the Celebrity B honorary team.

Note: You can only see these honorary teams from the Administrative side of a TeamRaiser.

- Allow participants to form teams when they register, click the checkbox to enable team functionality. Selecting this option means that your fundraising through this TeamRaiser will be by individual participants only. Your participants will not see anything about forming or joining teams on your TeamRaiser pages.

Note: Enabling teams is recommended and will cause the system to gather additional useful information when generating reports about the TeamRaiser.

- Allow participants to create a password when they form teams, click the checkbox to enable teams to restrict participants to only those who have been given specific passwords. It is important to consider that many participants may think managing one more password is too cumbersome, and may actually discourage participation.

- Include company name for teams, click the checkbox to foster competitive spirit between teams of different companies,. This can sometimes add extra fundraising incentive to participants and create a larger volunteer base.

- Team Divisions, type in appropriate labels to subdivide your competitive teams into several different groups. For example, you can have Family Division Teams that do not compete against teams in the Corporate Division.

Type one division name per line. Potential participants will see both the TeamRaiser Title and team Divisions on the TeamRaiser Pages.

3. Click the Save button (at the bottom of the page) to save your work.
