Constituent Codes relative to intent

We work in Tax Credits and recently have merged traditional fundraising into our Department.  We tag our contacts related to our tax credit companies as prospect or donor. Now, with traditional fundraisers involved, the prospect of a company may be an individual donor as well. So they would be both prospect and donor, which we don't want. We've floated the idea of changing to i.e. "Tax Credit-Donor" or "Philanthropy- Donor", etc. We already have codes in the system relative to board status, affiliation membership, etc. Does anybody run into the same thing relative to campaign or revenue driven relationships? And how do you treat them. Thank you.
