How to send personal fundraising links

Options
Hello!

I have a few campaigns that would like to send personal fundraising links to their participants using email. Some of our participants struggle with technology, so giving them the ability to copy their personal fundraising link and paste it wherever they want is a benefit.

No one on staff can seem to find the option to include users personal fundraising link in an email. We use Luminate Online and the Teamraiser is http://www.llswa.org/site/TR?fr_id=1620&pg=entry.

A sample personal fundraising page looks like this: http://www.llswa.org/site/TR/LLSWA/llswaFF?px=1463846&pg=personal&fr_id=1620. I've attempted to input this link into an email and replace "1463846" to a user's member ID number, but haven't found success.

Has anyone had success inserting personal fundraising pages in emails?

Thanks!

  • Hey Shauna!

The s-tag you need to use is the [[S1:cons_id]] tag to pull in the right number after "px=". The "PX" is the "Constituent ID Number" on their Luminate Online Cons360 record...for some reason, it's called, "PX" in TeamRaiser. :)

Let me know if this works for you.

  • Hi Brenda!

Thank you for the help! The link looks correct when I send the email using the s-tag you provided, but when I click on the link, it takes me directly to the homepage and not the individual's fundraising page. Have you ever encountered this before?

  • Make sure you didn't accidentally build a space into the url.

    http://www.llswa.org/site/TR/LLSWA/llswaFF?px=[[S1:cons_id]]&pg=personal&fr_id=1620
  • Thanks Brian!

I didn't build a space into the url, but just to make sure, I copied the link you shared and it still sent me to the homepage of the Teamraiser, rather than the specific participant's page. I don't understand why this is happening, since when I check the test email, the s-tag is correctly displayed with the individual's ID number within the url. I'm not sure if there is any other way to troubleshoot this topic.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

  • Are you entering the URL/formula with the WYSIWYG? That could be breaking the ampersands.

    Or maybe try: http://www.llswa.org/site/TR?px=[[S1:cons_id]]&pg=personal&fr_id=1620

I assume you made sure this participant is active? Does it work with other participants?

  • Eureka!

Your suggestion to ensure the participant is active made me look a little deeper into the ID number that was being sent in the test messages. Regardless of email addressee in the test email, it was only displaying my admin ID number, which is not registered for the event. After approving the email and sending to multiple addresses- it has now worked!

Thank you so much for all the help! Can't wait to use this for our participants.

    Best,

    Shauna
