Event volunteer recording & tracking when we don't have the volunteer module

Hi everyone,


We're looking for a way to record our volunteers for our events, and do not have the volunteer module.  We do have the events module.


We're currently considering 1 of 2 ways - an event named attribute of some kind on the main attribute tab of the constituent record or an event participant with a participant type of volunteer and then an event participant attribute to record what part of the event or what job type.


What would you do?

I noticed no one had answered your question yet so, just my 2 cents.


I would create an Organization for each Event and relate constituent volunteers to that Org leveraging Date From, Date To, Rel, Recip Rel, and Position for volunteer role. There's an Attributes and Notes section within the Relationship as well.

You could add a Volunteer Fund and enter it as an "other" gift with the amount corresponding to the number of hours, if you need to track hours.
