How do I "Move Selected Photo Here"?

Options

You may notice some problems trying to rearrange photos in a photo album - pictures not going where you expect them to, for example. The problem is that the button for "Move selected photos here" really means "Move selected photos in between this photo and the previous photo".

For example, let's say we have 6 photos, numbered 1 through 6 and appearing on the screen in this order initially:

1 2

3 4

5 6

If we are attempting to swap the odd number photos so they show on the right instead of on the left, we would follow these steps:

1. Check the checkbox for photo 1.

2. Click the green arrow above photo 3 -- this indicates we want to put photo 1 inbetween photos 2 and 3 -- the result will be:

2 1

3 4

5 6

3. Check the checkbox for photo 3.

4. Click the green arrow above photo 5 -- this indicates we want to put photo 3 inbetween photos 4 and 5 -- the result will be:

2 1

4 3

5 6

5. Check the checkbox for photo 5.

6. Click the green arrow below photo 6 -- since photo 6 is the last photo, there is an extra arrow at the bottom of that photo to place a picture at the end of the album (after photo 6) -- the result will be:

2 1

4 3

6 5

Once you get the hang of looking at that "Move Selected Photos Here" button as an "Insert" rather than a "Replace" function, rearranging photos becomes much easier!
