BBNC - Deceased Spouses

Options
A BBNC member can change their own status to deceased on their profile page (if that field is included), but they can't change their spouse's.

At least as far as I can tell.

And there is no way to display a spouse's deceased status on a BBNC page using the spouse deceased field.

We'd like to publish pages that contain a member's name and their spouse as in:

John Smith, '97 (Mary Smith)

123 Main St., Ithaca, NY  14850

jsmith@gmail.com

Mary is deceased, but you wouldn't know! (We, of course, are not going to remove Mary from the constituent's record!)

John may get an email or note from a fellow member who innocently asks: "How is Mary?"

The hack we are thinking of using is to direct BBNC members to prefix their spouse's first name with an "*" to indicate if deceased - as in:

(*Mary Smith)

If your organization faces a similar problem, how are you handling?

Is there another forum in which BBNC feature requests can be posted?

Thanks,

Tom
