PageBuilder Glossary

Options

"Hot Edit" - refers to editing the active (live) Version of the Page; users will see your change as soon as you Save the component you are editing.

HTML Editor - one of two message editors that may be available to you when you choose the HTML Component on the Edit Page Contents screen. This editor allows you to add and format text; it also allows you to add personalization, conditionals, additional components, and links. When using the HTML Editor, you are working in HTML view -- that is, you will actually see the HTML tags as you add formatting.

Keywords - words that may be added to a Page Version on the Edit Page Contents screen. These keywords are incorporated into the meta-tags to help search engines locate the page. You may use phrases or single words; separate your entries with commas.

Page Version - a page that can be viewed, generated by creating a Version of the original Page. You can create as many Versions of an existing Page as you choose; only one Version, however, can be active at any given time. All of the existing Versions of a Page will be visible in the Version List at the bottom of the Page Information screen for each page (unless you have chosen to archive some Versions).

Page Library - lists all Pages that have been created and saved as well as all default Pages. The Page Library is available when you choose Content on the Administrator's navigation bar.

Page Title - a title that is incorporated into the actual title tag of your html page and may be displayed in the user's title bar, but will not appear as content on the page. The title is provided by the administrator on the New Version screen and is required if you are using any accessibility parameters.

Reusable Page - a page that can be incorporated into another PageBuilder page by using the components menu in the WYSIWYG or HTML editors; the option to make a page reusable is available on the Page Information screen for each page.

WYSIWYG Active X Editor (What You See Is What You Get) - the message editor that you will have available if using Internet Explorer 5.5 or greater on a PC. This editor allows you to add and format text; it also allows you to add personalization, conditionals, components, and links as well as text boxes, tables, images, bookmarks, and more. Your view as you prepare content using the WYSIWYG will be similar to that of the end-user (although you may view the HTML code if you choose).
