How to create easy yet professional-looking emails?

Options

I am upgrading my email design, and I am looking for a way to easily create a professional layout. I find WISIWIG difficult to use. I am currently designing in Publisher and copying and pasting into WISIWIG. Does anyone have WISIWIG tips? Does anyone use another software to design the emails? And what?

  • Well Carol,

What I use to create my templates is a series of programs. I usually start off with Photoshop to create the design and slice up the work, submit the images to the image library and then create the html using Dreamweaver. Then like your doing now copy and paste into the body of your emails.

Now i don't know if your using stationary or your just using a blank template then pasting what you have created into the body. but do remember with the rendering engine of outlook 2007 some CSS callouts, thats if you plan on using CSS to style your email do not work. What we have done is go back to our templates and email stationary and redesign them by going back to using tables.

You can find articles on that CSS call outs work and do not work here is one that might just help you out.

If you have any other question please feel free to contact me. I'll be more than happy to help out.

    Matthew
