global update?

Options

There are occasions when I'd like to update a group of records based on a query but I don't think that option exists (short of downloading the records, making the changes, then uploading - an imperfect process since it doesn't allow you to set a field to null). Is there another way to do this that I've missed or are there plans to allow for a global update option? A few examples of how this might be used include:

  • setting inactive records to "removed" (inactive = unsubscribe + no mailing address + no activity + no financial transactions)

  • globally removing "United States" from the country field

  • changing "Apartment" to "Apt"

  • Hi Walter,

If you are needing to inactive records, I suggest you place the records in a Group and then submit a Support Case to have them remove the constituents in that group.

As for the other requests, I have submitted feature request FR-15698 "Global Updates" in reference to your question.

    Cheers,

    Joanna,

Do you know if this feature request was ever implemented. I, too, would like to perform a global update opting a group out of a particular interest group. Thanks!
