Single Sign On example PHP script wanted

We intend to implement single sign on using shared cookies between our server and Convio on the same domain. I've seen the shared cookies documentation and it is helpful for understanding how this works. I'm not a PHP expert and do most of our programming from borrowed open source scripts that I customize. Writing single sign on scripts from scratch is a bit intimidating, and I was wondering if anyone has an example to help me get started? Failing that, does anyone know a good PHP programmer that might be interested in volunteering or offering a discount to a nonprofit? Thanks, Greg.:-)
