Group Functionality: Master Groups w/Sub Groups?

Options

Does Group functionality in Convio allow you to create a master group with multiple sub-groups? I don't see a way to do this, but wanted to verify. In reading the on-line documentation, it sounds as though Convio is recommending using the GROUP TYPE feature as a way to lump all groups together. Is this possible?

  • Hi Monica,

When you create a group, you have the ability to create the parent group (master group) by using the

Group Type. Then, you can query by the Group Type to see which groups fall under it.

For example, if you set the Group Type as "Birds", then you can create Groups with the names of "Blue Jay, Robin, Sparrow, and Crow".

To bring up the list, you will go to Constituent 360 > Groups > select to expand 'All Groups' under the 'User Group List' to view the Master Group (Birds) and its sub-groups "Blue Jay, Robin, Sparrow, and Crow".

    I hope this helps.

    Cheers,

    Joanna
