Understanding Event Administrators and Event Managers

Options
We're running through the setup for TeamRaiser and I'm confused about the difference between Event Administrators (as in determining whether administrators can enter credit card info for offline donations--Event Options--Advanced Options) and Event Managers and the Administrator Groups "TeamRaiser Configuration Administrator" and "TeamRaiser Management Administrator."

We don't do traditional peer-to-peer events. Ours are DIY events, where people can create a TeamRaiser page to raise money for the organization.

Any insights appreciated.

Thanks!

  • Kim,

Not sure about the LO Admin security groups, but here's a very little bit about Event Managers...

We don't really use the "Event Manager" aspect a ton at our org, but we do have the Event Manager Centers configured for a few of our events, to make it easier for the event coordinator on staff to get to some simplified relevant registration/donation management and reports for the TR without having to comb through the full shebang in LO - and it can also help restrict them security-wise to only being able to see/edit certain information. They also don't have to be LO Admins at all, since the Event Manager Center is separate (and actually, they can't be Admins, you would have to set up a secondary non-Admin record for an Event Manager who is also an Admin).  Here's a screenshot of an Event Manager Center.

You see the interface is pretty unslick (and can't be modified much out of the box).  But many of the Event Manager-related settings (which are spread out sporadically all over the place) relate to what can be done here.

Assuming your participants are creating only their own pages, not their own TRs, I would think this wouldn't be too useful for you in that sense, since this is TR-level management.  But if you had volunteers out in the world managing walks for you or something like that, this would probably be pretty useful.

Hope that little nugget is helpful - sorry I don't know much more!

    Tanna
