Is it possible to convert a donation into a Team Raiser registration.

Someone gave a donation to a TR participant but said they want it to be their own registration. Is there a way to convert it easily?

The functionality to do that does not exist directly in TeamRaiser, but Convio Support can assist with this. Here's what you'd need to do:

1) Register the person in the TeamRaiser event - do not record any registration fees when you do so.

2) For the donation that you want to convert to the registration fee, Change the Soft Credit on that gift and assign it to the donor's participation record in the event.

3) Open a Support case with Convio Support (or have your organization's designated support personel do so on your behalf). Please include in the ticket:

• The Confirmation Code of the Gift that needs to be converted to a registration fee

• the FR_ID of the Event the donor is now participating in (when managing the TeamRaiser Event, look in the address bar for the text that says "fr_id=1234" - it is the 1234 that Convio Support will need)

• The Amount of the gift that should be considered a registration fee (any remaining amount will then be considered an Additional Gift)

Convio Support will convert the transaction that was originally the donation to the other participant into the donor's registration fees for their participation in the event.
