Check issuer and matching gift company are the same--how to enter?

We received a gift from a donor's advised fund. We applied the gift to the fund company's record and soft credited the donor--my organization is a stickler for this process. Apparently, this donor actually works for the fund company and they have matchedthe gift. I am essentially trying to have a company match their own gift, but Raiser's Edge won't allow this. Any ideas about how I can go about this?

If we receive a $200.00 check from Acme Ball Bearing Employee Engagement Fund, which conveys $100.00 from a company employee and a $100.00 matching gift, I would put the MG Pledge on a separate constituent record, Acme Ball Bearing (representing the company itself, not its donor-advised fund), then pay off the company's pledge with the Engagement Fund's payment.  Good procedure?  I'm not sure, but it enables us to clear the hurdle you spelled out, so I present it for what it's worth.
