hiding events on runner calendars but keeping them on actual events page calendar

We are trying to keep our historical events on the calendar that our website visitors can see. The only problem is we have a running events calendar on the right side of our page wrapper that will keep all events for the current month up even if they've passed unless we make those events inactive. Is there a way to do both things at once? If we make everything inactive to keep it off the runner it looks like we haven't been doing anything! Thanks.

I believe this is related to a reusable component in your Page Wrapper that is pulling in an automated list of events. There are two options for this particular component - you can pull in the Current Period (which will show past and present/upcoming events) or Next Period which only shows future events. Try copying the active version of the reusable component and changing the period to Next Period.
