Newsreader throwing error "Unable to connect to the remote server"

We have spun up a second website that is connected to our main database. Both sites are at the parent level. We are using the newsreader in both sites. On site 1, the newsreader works without any difficulties, but on site 2, our newsreaders are constantly throwing the error, "Unable to load the specified news feed due to the following error(s): Error encountered reading feed: Unable to connect to the remote server." Feeds from both sites are set up identical. Our RE is self hosted. Here are the steps we have taken:

1. Reviewed securities on parts and pages. Securities identical from site 1 to parts/pages on site 2.
2. Cleared all browsing history on all browsers/devices
3. Rebooted our REWS server. This fixes for a short time, but within 24 hours we are back to square one.
4. Placed the working newsreader from site 1 onto site 2. Newsreader from site 1 works without any error.
5. Placed the newsreader part from site 2 onto site 1, Newsreader throws errors.

Has anyone run into problems with their newsreader part on a second parent site? I have tried creating new parts and still run into this problem. Any suggestions/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
