Full State name displaying instead of abbreviation in BBNC plugin

The state's have always displayed as the 2 digit abbreviation in the plugin and today it has started showing the full state, which causes an error for our gift entry people when they process the gifts via the BBNC plugin.  I've looked at the forms and tables and cannot find where this is controlled.  It is not a user option (like for queries in pulling long or short values).  We didn't make any changes to BBNC, so has anyone else experienced this or do you have any ideas where to look?  I searched on this topic in the knowledgebase and here in the community and didn't find anything, but thought I'd ask everyone before opening a ticket.  Thanks!
