received html/css code for a custom email from a vendor, and luminate changes the code in the text editor so it displays incorrectly?

Options
Hello - I received html/css for a custom html email that I'm sending through luminate emails.  When I paste it into the plain text editor, and test send, it does not display correctly in gmail or ios, but does in outlook. There should be two colums and two rows of images, but in gmail and ios it is just one.  It looks like luminate is actually automatically adding in some lines of code that I can not get out of there.

When I take the code and paste it directly into litmus.com (which we use to test different browser rendering), it does display correctly.

Anyone know how to fix this?

  • Hey Libby,

Can you share the code or your litmus builder/checklist link(s)?

    Thanks,

    Phil
  • We typically do
not use the editor for this reason.  We turn it
    off.

  • Thanks! How can you turn it off??

  • I’m not sure if
the jpg will show up, but just click on your name at the upper
right of the admin page and uncheck the WYSIWYG option.

    Good
    luck!

You can do it within the editor, but we leave it off so we don't even open a message with the WYSIWYG on.  Attached is a screenshot.  Go to your preferences and uncheck the WYSIWYG option.

  • Sorry, totally missed the attachments.

The community e-mails don't let ya know that.

Hi, did you ever solve your rendering issue? I'm having the same problem.
