Upgrade to BBNC 7.1

We're still on the planning stage to upgrade BBNC 6.55 to 7.1. I have only handled RE and BBNC for a year and I would like to check those who have already upgraded to the latest version if the task was straight forward or did your liaise with blackbaud professional services?

    Hope you have been well. Going from BBNC 6.55 to the latest version of 7.1, which is SP2 and soon to be SP3, is quite a jump. There were a handful of versions between 6.55 and 7.1 SP2, so the biggest obstacle you may run into is database service revisions. The revisions may run for a while in order to bring the database up to the current version, which could tax system resources on your SQL server. Depending on what all the SQL server is used for, you may want to schedule the upgrade for after regular business hours to avoid straining other systems.
