Creating a dynamic and vibrant landing page

Options
So this post is less about, "I have an idea!", and more so, "This is my vision, how do I do it?"

I know that EDH is still relatively new, and we are all learning as we go, but in my search to find inspiration for an upcoming fundraiser we are doing, I've stumbled across a few different pages that are fully customizable AND address a few of the needs I was looking for. Specifically these two:

https://jumprope.everydayhero.do/jumprope2017/Forrest_Primary_School_FORREST_ACT_125591

https://anytimefitnessppp4spa2017.everydayhero.do/

One thing that I have really been hoping for is a customization directory that explains what the tags are for leaderboard, tags for donate button in the header, register for a team, etc are as reference when coding a landing page from scratch. Things like  sidebar__decorative-icon, and  search-container, along with their function, etc. Maybe this is in the works, or maybe it's already out there, but definitely would be helpful!

In the two pages above, I really liked the way they laid out the header, and how they displayed their leaderboard as icons instead of just text in a sidebar, and as I have been digging in, I have noticed some similar class and id tags, such as  cxsync-294281318 and  cxsync-1768887501, and was wondering if this is because they used the same company to create their pages, or if there IS some sort of reference out there.

Can anyone offer some assistance or thoughts on this? I love the possibility and customization option for the homepage, but am finding it extremely time-consuming to create my own templates from other templates, and am wondering if there is another way or a better way.

Thank you a ton! And look forward to picking some other creative brains out there. :)

I think the jumprope page is premium, they most likely paid $750 for EDH to design the page.

The other one is do-able yourself,  http://everydayhero.github.io/public-api-docs/ keep in mind some header images are simply inserted via the https://nfp.everydayhero.com/admin/ control panel for your campaign.

  • Ah! Thank you so much for the document on widgets. I'm still struggling to find my way around their knowledge base because I don't always know what the word is I want to search for.

Luckily, I've been able to take apart some of the jump rope one to work how I want, but definitely time-consuming, but I think knowing the widgets will help with what I am trying to accomplish. Thanks again. :)

  • Hey Melissa. Just wanted to chime in and say that the page is looking really great! I love the whole concept of the event and the "Sole Men." Best of luck on the whole thing. :) Come back and let us know how it goes?

    Thanks, Ami! Can do. :)

  • Hi Melissa,

I see that you are on to your 2019 campaign.  The page is great. We are just starting with EDH and I am a bit frustrated. It is not a intuitive as it seems when they are first selling it, especially if web design is not your thing.  Did you customize your landing page or use their basic template?

How did you get your banner to look the way it does?  I have a lot of questions.  I am wondering if you have the time or desire to chat off line or via email?

    Thanks,
