PDF to help Participants Work TeamRaiser?

Hi all!


We just got TeamRaiser this year after using Sphere for a long time, and I'm in the midst of creating a page for our largest community event of the year. I was wondering if there's a document/resource that participants can use to learn the features of their pages?


For example, we used to link to this one in our Sphere confirmation emails: http://www.healthsciencesfoundation.ca/upload/documents/complete-personal-hq-tour.pdf


We're creating a FAQ for the pages. We'll also be coaching them a bit with autoresponder emails, but a one-stop resource would be ideal if one is available.

Hi Lindsay,

Attached you'll find Participant Center “How To” saved as Word documents to use as a template. You can edit, save and link to a Fundraising Tips page as well as link to them in fundraising coaching emails for your events.


Some things to note before you begin editing or posting these to your site:

• These documents are sort of like a template and I created these to be digested in manageable pieces of information rather than placing all of these steps in one long monster document. The purpose is to provide them with the how-to language; however, you will probably want to personalize them with screen shots of your own Participant Center keep in mind:
  • You may not have all Participant Center items activated. For example, the screen shots show Online Check In, which many organizations don’t use.
  • The only exception is the upload contacts from .CSV file or from Gmail/Yahoo….those should be generic enough to fit your needs unless you have a highly customized participant center. 
  • Read through the content to make sure all the tabs and links described in each document, reflect the same language inside your Participant Center
• When editing the document, be aware that as content shifts, the graphics will more than likely shift as well. I have red boxes and arrows on some of the graphics. If you add content on a page, more than likely this will shift everything down and the boxes and arrows become displaced.  We saw this happen today as my version of Word is different from your version.
• There is placeholder text in the header and footer for the organization, event name, etc. It is recommended to add an event manager contact at the end of each document in the event a participant needs further assistance.
• After proofreading these after you’ve edited, I encourage you to save the documents as a PDF.
• Link documents on Fundraising Tips or Fundraising Resources page on TeamRaiser site
• Link to relevant “how-to” document inside coaching emails guiding fundraising behavior
