It seems that as of late each time we send out a pushpage to all our customers we hear back from several that they did not receive it. We go through the process of checking the pushpage job, distribution group, and bounced messages, and things usually check out, meaning they have a valid email, the pushpage was sent, but they did not open it. Blackbaud maintains this is on the user's end and sending mail to "unblockme@blackbaud.com" is the fix. But why are they being blacklisted to begin with? Anyone else deal with this?

    Hi,

Yeah we had/have this issue with AOL users.  Our webmaster was told that it's a security setting of the email service provider - completely out of their (Blackbaud's) hands right now.

Have you noticed a trend with your email recipients, in terms of the provider they use for emails (yahoo, earthlink, hotmail, etc.)?

  • Thanks for the reply! No trend that I can see....happens to multiple account types.
  • Hi Jeremy,

Hope you are having a great week! The unblockme@blackbaud.com email address handles requests to be removed from our internal blacklist. The blacklist records spam complaints from receipients. When receiving an email message, if the receipient reports the message as spam this triggers a response back to our email server which places the address on the blacklist. This action is necessary to comply with various spam regulations and laws. If you send a email to an address on the blacklist, it should show as a bounce rather than as a successful send attempt.

    Thanks!

    Tony
