Did you know DIY birthday campaigns raise thousands of dollars each year for charities? Birthday Campaigns are easy ways for your supporter base to come together and fundraiser on your behalf for their birthday.

 

Here’s how to make it as easy as possible for your supporters to create their birthday campaigns:

• Encourage them to give up presents in order to make a bigger impact on their birthday.
• Mention your birthday campaign in emails and on social media. This will be key to make this a successful campaign that can run in the background of all the other things you have going on.
• Show your fundraisers the love! They may not be a major donor but they could bring in $500, $1000, $5000 in donations.
• And remember, they gave up their birthday gifts for you! So say thank you.

I love birthday campaigns!  

I have personallly have done this for the last 4 years.  

The first two years I asked people to not say happy birthday to me on any social media and just donate whatever the minimum was and I rasied a few hundred dollars. using peer-to-peer marketing. 

2 years ago, one of my good friends, who happens to have the same birthdate joined me - and we raised a little under 5x's that amount.  Each year we show a good growth..  

This year, we have another birthday buddy joining us - so who knows what we will raise..

We usally start a month ahead of time promoting.  We pick different charities each year and we post about it frequently.  

It really can be very successful if you plan it out and have the right tools.  We do switch up our graphics during the campaign.  We send out frequent updates thru our social media

but most important - we have fun with it.  



The other thing - you can use your birthday, graduation, wedding, whatever event you want.
