Emailing multiple Contact Types

Options
Apologies if this has been covered before, but I have experienced serious problems when sending a student-sourced (i.e. from EE) message out with lists containing multiple contact types.

For example, if I send to two lists:   freshmen-primary and freshmen-secondary, and I choose the "primary" email contact type, if user Smith has a primary email type but does *not* have a secondary type, it will not send to the user at all!

Apparently there are serious problems with the deduplication process.

The *only* workaround here is to send out two messages:  one to lists that only look at the primary email type and a second [copy of the same ] message that only references secondary lists.

I think this needs to be fixed in one of two ways:

- cheap solution:   DON'T delete a real email address in deference to a blank email address. [e.g. don't delete Smith completely because he doesn't have a secondary type as above]

- better solution:   allow messages to go out to more than one email type.  If, in a given list, the user has one of the types, send it out.
