Profile Form - Make Private option

Options
When a user selects "make private" for a field in the NetCommunity profile form, where is that change reflected? I've looked all over NetCommunity and RE and can't find where that option is displayed.

Ideally, I would like to be able to make users' various peices of inforamation private or not private manually when it is convinent to do so.

If others have rights to view any of that user's profile information and that info has been marked private, they won't see that data (I think they see a {Private} marker instead).

Not sure if you're Supervisor, you may be able to see all the data irregardless of the private marking - but other regular users should not see it.

You can set up a test account with regular rights to test this, perhaps.

  • Sorry, I guess the question wasn't worded that clearly. I understand how the "Make Private" option functions, and it works. I just cannot find where that is reflected in the back end.

For example, If I would like to make a user's address private manually (without having to log into their account and using the Profile Form), then where is that data/option stored in Netcommunity/RE/EE? When someone clicks "Make Private" on the form, what changes on the back end to make that happen?

    Thanks for any help.
  • Jarrad - Sorry I didn't reply to your question appropriately.  I don't think there's a way to access user profiles unless, as you said, you change the password and log in as them. But then you have to notify them that you've changed their password.

Please post if you find a solution - this would be very good to know.
