Anonymous Newsletter Subscription part - Anyone using this? Pros/cons?

I am looking for information on the pros/cons of using this part. Is the tool beneficial? Have you found good response from using this tool? Would love to hear some feedback from BBNC users....

This part was created back in 2005 for organizations who had the need for larger quantities of email sign-up without any implication on RE and without the need to manage the list.  The form collects name/email only in BBNC, and only tied to the Email Newsletters functionality.  For some organizations, this works well.  For others who want to manage the email list and send different types of emails using Appeals and/or Conditional Content within the messages, I recommend using a Common Form that can produce csv exports of data for email lists instead.  You can import the data into RE for querying constituent-based email lists, or just upload as an imported email list into BBNC to send through Messages and/or Appeals.
