Creating a Survey/Profile in NetCommunity

I've been asked to create a survey for our alumni to complete so that they can update us on their addresses, employment, etc. We would also like to capture their grad year(s) or years on campus. We are a community college, so it could be a wide range.


We have NetCommunity Spark, which does not include surveys. My thought was to create a constituent profile form, which I did, with all of the fields we wanted. However, it will only work if the person has a login or create one. We don't want to force our alumni to create a login just to fill out the information we want.


Anyone know of a workaround?

I do this a lot by masking a free event registration as a profile form. You can change most of the language that would be misleading within the registration form (e.g. change Registrant to Alum within Step 1 of Registration). The only downside to this is that all information other than contact info will come into the database (if you're using RE) as participant attributes and you'll have to move the information into their constituent profiles (export, reformat, and import). It's worked pretty well for me. Happy to answer any more detailed questions!

You can create quick and secure online surveys using our tool SmartSURVEY. It works with NetCommunity to seamlessly handle the registration/login process for the survey participants.

Approach your survey participants by Email, Phone or Post and ask them to securely complete the survey. They need to provide certain details accurately to be approved, and you can add an email handshake if you wish. SmartSURVEY will then do the necessary steps to get them logged in the website and linked to their Raiser's Edge record. 

You can then use normal profile forms to take information and have it feed through to Raiser's Edge. You can even use our new enhanced profile form to provide them with the ability to update other information such as relationships, education details and more.
