Exchange Rates - how is gift recorded and acknowledged?

Hello, a Canadian donor asked the other day about their phonathon pledge balance, stating with the currency exchange rate, their recent gift of $150 should cover the entire pledge of $250 (plus extra).  I'm realizing all of our exchange rates in Config, International are all 1:1!  I can correct this, but am still wondering how others process international gifts, factoring in the exchange rate.  The amount in U.S. bank account is only $150, but should the donor be receipted the amount based on the exchange rate?

Ahh, yes, that would be so helpful.  Is there a way to keep in General Discussion as well?  The issue would be the same if gift was received by check or via NetCommunity.  Thanks for your help!  Jane
