How is your organization tracking memberships or giving level societies

Options
Hi all,

First off, I know that not all organizations use the same terms equally when speaking of donor "memberships" and "giving level societies."  lndeed, I came from an organization that didn't even bother with memberships because of the logistical burdens of tracking "benefits" for our membership donor base, paying for the "benefits," and complaints associated with donors who would demand membership benefits extended because they would join "later" in the program. As a result, we would create "donor level giving societies" per calender year which would simplify the donor stewardship process. Donors were recognized in online donor walls (lower tier), in maganize publications (middle tier), and lobby donor walls (upper major donor tier which also included the magazine). Those in the middle and upper tier were invited to events to meet other grateful patient families and meet our doctors.

Anyway, on to the question.

How does your organization track and report memberships in Raiser's Edge?

       a. membership fees (paid or not paid)

       b. tracking and reporting upcoming renew or lapse membership dues

       c. Track QPQ

How does your organization track and giving level societies in Raiser's Edge?

***I think this one is easy since the giving amounts determines whether or not the donor is eligible for the donor giving level             societiy

In attributes?

Trying to get ideas here. :)

Thank you in advance.

  • At a previous organization, we used pledges for the giving society since they made formal three year pledges. It was easy to use the canned pledge reports in RE (past due report, not paid report) and queries for invoicing. We used constituent codes for easy tracking/identification of the members.

With constituent codes as an option, did you set them up to be generic membership (none year specific) or did you set them up as year specfic?
