EmailFinder Results and Constant Contact

Options
Hi all:  I'm about ready to upload our files for the EmailFinder service. We use Constant Contact as our email provider. From what I understand, it sounds like once we receive our final results, which will be a list of emails from people who did not choose to opt out of our list, I will then need to send emails to these same people through Constant Contact asking them to opt in. Is this correct? I would be extremely interested to see how others have handled this. Thank you!

  • Unfortunately no.  You can't add them to Constant Contact until AFTER they have opted in.  CC won't let you send them even an introductory email asking if they want to opt in and BB will only ask if they want to opt out.  It's a nasty Catch-22.  You have to find some other method of sending the opt in email and I've been searching for more than 2 years to find a provider who will do that for us.  Essentially we wasted the $ on the EmailFinder service.
  • We used email finder, you wouldn't want to upload to any system until you verify who's email address it returned. For us in mnay cases it was a college student who lived at the address on the record and had the college email address. It's was several years ago so may have improved by now. We use NetCommunity to send our emails and we don't personalize when we do the mass emails since we don't have confirmation on many as to who the address belongs to. Helps us get the word out but unfortunatly was not the solicitation tool we had hoped for.

  • Thanks for sharing your experience, Linda. I do wish I had learned more in advance about this option before buying it as part of a package of other analytics.
