Donors what us to know something about their donation.

We have included the comments box on our donation form. I don't see how we are to receive the information that a donor may include that they would like us to know.



1. if a gift is given in memory/honor of someone this is where they would put this information. We do not have the Tribute Module.



1. we are having donors support participants in our Run/Walk. I included the Comments box on the online donation form to include this information. is there a way to have the comments box as an option on the Thankyou email so that we will receive the donors comment information in our copy of the the Thankyou?



I don't see a way that donors can support a participant on an Event Form



If not, how do we know what the donor wants us to know!

2. No, the information on the "Comment" field is not in the email notification today, but we are adding more information to this in a future release.

We have been able to process and track our Honor/Memorial donations in the past with donors adding the information in the comments (on our previous system). I am not sure that the comment field does us any good as we are not able to access or see the comments that are submitted by our donors. Needing to have the Honor/Memorial Tracking Module to access this information seems to be unnecessary to me if we could get the comment field to be a part of the information that is given to us in the transaction download.



I don't see any way on the Event Module to allow donors to support a runner/walker. This is why we set up the Donation form with the comment box for our upcoming Run/Walk. If I am not able to get that information then I am not sure how I am to credit the donation to the correct participant.



Can you explain to me the function of the comment field and how it is intended to be used?

Hi Terry, donation comments are stored in The Raiser's Edge as an attribute on the gift record. The attribute is named "Online Express Comments", and whatever the user enters for their comment is displayed as the description.
