Edit donor submitted info when records are linked

Options
When records are linked, is there a way to edit or reject the changes the donor submitted? (ie, didn't capitalize their name, or used all caps, address isn't in correct format, submitted business e-mail but we want to keep the personal e-mail)

Our donors like to avoid capitalization or spell everything out for their address so I'm doing a lot of clean up. When I need to create a new record or manually link records it's easy to edit or reject changes, but I'm not finding how to do that when records were linked behind the scenes. Thanks!

Hi Nike. I completely understand your frustration here. Transaction processing is an area we would like to improve in the future, but for now here is a workaround for the issue you are describing.

In the case of records where you search for a link, adjust the "New Value" column when you select a linked record. When you are done with edits, click "Save and close".

In the case of an auto-matched record that needs updating, you can select the "Find Constituent" button, make any updates to the "New Value" column, select the linked constituent under the "Link Online Donor to a Constituent" section, then click the "Link Constituent" button. A prompt will ask if you would like to use the changed data (yes).
