Online donation processing & required attributes

I noticed that processing online donations via OLX bypasses the constituent attribute requirement on newly generated records. This is an issue if you want, as we do, to set a requirement that all new records have a specific attribute. With mailing signups this is less of an issue since constituent attributes are generated automatically; however, with donation signups only gift attributes are generated automatically. It would be useful to give us the option to set default attributes we want applied to all online donor records where new constituent records are being created.

Hi Gerad, it sounds like you can accomplish what you are looking for by using "default sets" in the RE integration options.



Check the account menu in the top right of BBOX, then "Integration options". From there, check the "Constituents" option and you will see "Default Set applied to all new individuals".



From there, you can add a new set and include any data that you would like to be applied to new constituents created from BBOX, including any attributes you would like.

I see that it's currently set to New Individual Addressee/Salutation as the default set. Are there any implications I should be aware of if I change that to a default attribute?

The default set you choose will be what is used to determine what (if any) extra data is added to new constituent records.



If you (or someone at your org) has already set up a default set for add/sal, you could either edit that set to also include the attribute stuff, or you could create a new default set that includes both the add/sal stuff that is there now, and the new attribute stuff you would like to add.

Are default sets network wide, or user specific? In other words if I set them, will other BBOX users in our office have them set as well?



Also, is there a way to specify a function such as "Nickname = First Name"? For 90% of the constituents we enter, that is the case. And we always want to fill nickname in. I see something like "system date" can be used in some of the fields, and when creating a new constituent in RE normally, there is a hotkey to enter the Nickname using the First Name field.
