Can you cancel a "Process Transaction" option click so a gift batch is NOT created?

Options
We have it happen regularly that a staff member processing downloaded transactions will click the "Process Transaction" button inadvertently when trying to rather click "Save Changes" to simply allow us then to "Edit Profile". There needs to be a way to cancel that action if desired. Every time this happens, we get a single gift batch created which adds extra time in our receipting and final processing steps. What we're doing is trying to process all of the records together for a single batch with all of the downloaded transactions.

I really find the steps required for processing multiple transactions when both existing and new constituent records are involved, to be very confusing and inefficient. We've had many moments of frustration in the process of trying to learn the steps. Simple things like coming out of the "Edit Profile" screen, only to have the selected record in the list now be the first record in the list again, instead of keeping the last record worked on highlighted, thereby helping keep our place in the process.

I'd be happy to share more details with someone verbally if you'd like to call me. The download process is just not well designed in my humble opinion, and I think a few minor modifications would help a lot.

  • Any insight into this from the BBOX team? Is there a workaround of any kind to eliminate this from happening for us?
