Character Limit for Form Fields

Has anyone found a good way to limit specific fields in donation/registration forms to a certain number of characters? While using NetCommunity Spark, I was able to add character limits to specific gift attribute tabs using jQuery code placed in a special unformatted page part at the end of the tag on the web page containing the donation form.



So far, I haven't been able to replicate this using Online Express forms. I've tried adding the special jQuery code into the same place where I enter the form's code to embed the form itself. It doesn't seem to work, though.



If anyone has found a way to do this, I'd be very eager to learn how. Thank you!
