National Company Teams

Hi! Is anyone familiar with how National Company Teams work? We have a National Sponsor that has created teams for each of our Team Raiser events (9). They would like one site that they can direct their employees to to register for the event they want to participate in. Is this what National Companys can do?

    We have used this for our event as well.  We have over 115 locations (child TeamRaisers) for our event.  Sometimes families across the country want to join the same team but because they are participating at different locations, they have to setup a team per location.  Then we can setup a nationwide team (how we word it) so that we can connect all the teams at each of the locations into one overall  nationwide team.  We have a system in place to do this, although it involves some manual work on our end.  



    From what I know (maybe I am wrong), for the nationwide team page, we have to setup it up initally and continue to do all the edits to it.  I haven't seen a way that participants can edit it themselves.  Here is an example of our staff team that we setup to connect staff throughout one of our provinces: http://donate.parkinson.ca/site/TR?company_id=1062&pg=national_company

    Also, you can actually associate a team with that National Company during the creation of that team (if it's new team being formed during registration) or also associate an existing one with it through the backend CLO administration console, as long as they (The National Company and Event (Teamraisers) where those teams belong) are of the same "Security Category" -- thus that would reduce the amount of manual work (i.e. manually adding/modifying the list of teams belonging to it) because then you can tap into the Convio API to delegate the listing creation/update.

    Note: The "Join Team" will redirect you to a page where Convio API automatically retrieve all of the teams belonging to that National Company on events that are not closed.



    This is another example of leveraging the Convio API pertinent to National Company. In this one, we created a custom TeamRaiser page to list all the teams belonging to various National Companies that are active on that particular event.

  • I know this is a very old thread, but in case anyone happens to be looking for information about this: participants that are configured as the company coordinator will see a link to edit the national company page if they visit the national company page while they are logged in. This link points the user to the company coordinator center for the national company and offers a different set of management/Customer Service options. It appears the same way a company coordinator would see the link to the company coordinator center if they visit the company page while logged in.
