Gift Aid Address Attribute

When recently reviewing adding a Gift Aid Declaration with a co-worker, she said we always needed to add a GA Address Attribute to their record. That is the way it has always been done. But have no idea why or where it is used in the HMRC R68?

There's no "formal" need for an address attribute in order to claim Gift Aid, but if I were to take a guess, the address attribute could potentially be used to confirm the address you want to provide to HMRC for the donor?

Thanks Ross. I sort of suspected that it was a historic use. Does the R68 pull from the Preferred Address field?

The R68 report allows you to choose which address you want to select when running (on Tab # 5).  In 7.94, the Online Submission uses the address specified in the R68, but in 7.93 it pulls from the preferred address.
