New Donor Report

I am using the Report tab and New Donors tab for a New Donors Report. When I put in the dates for the report, I am not getting just new donors. I am getting all donorsfor that particular time frame. How can I correct this?

Is the Date range the only "non-default" in your report?  If not, what other criteria are you using?

I had a similar problem similar once.  I was trying to filter on funds. The short answer is to use a query to define the parameters and run that through the report.



The long answer that I got from BB is that when you use things like fund within the report to filter the results, what RE looks for is the first gift during that date range NOT that they gave their first gift during that range.  Does that make sense?  It's a very subtle difference.  I don't know if it's because the report is looking at gifts and not donors (even though it is the new donor report).  Or if is something else.

The New Donors Report shows donors who have given before ... for the first time during the dates selected in the report parameters, the donor correctly shows on the report as a new donor
