New or Updated Constituent Information

Options
Does anyone have an online form for adding or updating constituent information for Raisers Edge? We currently have a paper form which is attached.

  • We do not have a form (pretty small Development department).  Everyone makes changes when they are able (some fields are locked down in Security) and when they aren't able (or many times even if they are) they email the changes to me or our Admin to make in the database.  We are on RE:NXT, and I believe (hope!) they are developing a way for users to update addresses but which would then need approval/confirmation from the DBA before overwriting existing data...or would appear in a Change Log that can be reviewed by the DBA regularly (hopefully an option of one or the other, however the DBA or org wants it to work for them!).  My hope is that this will eventually be the case for other pieces of data in RE.  Instead of sending me an email with info for a new constituent, or entering one incompletely/incorrectly on their own, I'd love to have them enter data in a custom form that I design (as far as what fields they are asked to fill in) and then have that data sent to me to confirm (and clean!) before it hits the database and can't be easily found for review.

If you didn't know already, you can make fields required in RE, where a new record can't be created until all required fields are populated.  And you can write a query to look for all constituent records created after a specific date, then after you review those, update the date on the query and make that part of your monthly/quarterly data audit process.  Changes are more difficult to control or review...especially since I don't always find the time to review my audit queries regularly.

Sorry I'm not of tremendous help here...
  • You could just take that same form and translate it indo an editable doc with required fields or put it on your website with required fields, where your team can find it/have access to it.  And have the form, once completed, feed to your DBA's email.

Having a form that your department completes is a great idea.  I have rarely experienced a request for adding ONE record, I usually end up with a list and so then I guess that would get attached to the form. and the required fields would still have to be completed in order to know in what manner to add the records and why.  One of my questions when someone is asking add this person, add this person, is why, what is the end result of adding them/goal?
