I was confused by this announcement as well, because I don't really know which groups are "virtual" groups. It would be nice if they could elaborate on that with examples.

 

Slightly off-topic but possibly related: I wonder if the issue I had today with automatically generated district-based groups has anything to do with that -- groups like "California Assembly District 10", for example, just weren't populated (and strangely were listed as having been created on 3-21-15), and I wanted to use them quickly as a suppression in an email audience.

 

Since I didn't trust that those groups would be populated by the time I actually sent the email, I had to build a query and make a query-based group and then use that as a suppression group -- which of course is much slower than just including groups that already exist.
