Transferring actions to a different constituent

Options
Something I've often wondered but never been able to track down a solution to is this: if a user enters an action to the wrong constituent, is there a way to transfer it other than deleting it and entering it in anew? I know there's a way to do this in Salesforce, but can't see how in RE. I'm looking for something that users can do for themselves rather than something an admin would have to do. Matt

Sadly, not really. Using the merge constituents function you could transfer ALL actions from one record to another, but that's probably not useful here. And even then you'd have to have admin permissions to use that function.

Do you have ImportOMatic?  The workaround I have used is to expor the action information to Excel, and then import it to the correct record using ImportOmatic.

I do something similar to Marie -- I created an export for the action (or gift or whatever) and then I change the constituent ID to the correct constituent then I use the file to re-import the action.  After confirming that everything copied correctly, I delete the old action.

I use this mostly for gifts that have to be deleted and re-entered, but works for most other kinds of records too.

Thanks everyone. I did consider workarounds like these, but really the time taken to implement them probably takes as long as deleting and doing it again on the correct constituent. Matt
